The Great Pittsburgh Find of Signed T206

With the help of fellow collector Ray Piskadlo, I have identified at least 55 autographed T206 cards that comprise the Great Pittsburgh Find of Signed T206s, which took place during the summer of 2007.

It appears that the original owner was a sportswriter.  His collection began to filter through various Pittsburgh-area dealers, including "ctang50" and "r.c.means" onto ebay. Parts of this collection also were sold at the Pittsburgh show that year, to several autograph dealers.

The collector who compiled this collection appears do have done so primarily if not exclusively through the mail.  It is interesting to see this collector's obsession with obtaining signatures on tobacco cards.  He had the gumption to send at least 11 to Larry Doyle alone.  While this might have been overkill or even inappropriate to do at the time, it is somewhat ironic that collectors today only wish that he had sent more!

What I am showing here are the 55 cards that very likely came from this collection before, during and after many were posted (or were to be posted) on ebay.

If you have any of these -- or think you may have additional cards from this find or others -- please CONTACT ME!
